What if a returned item is damaged?

Clients may provide a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that will be used for any ongoing returns/damages. When a returned item is damaged, the warehouse will note the damage on the return and store the unit.

If an SOP is not provided, at the end of every month, you will receive a notification from OWD regarding any damaged returns. Upon receipt of this notification, you will have a maximum of 5 business days to provide instructions to the warehouse.

If you do not provide instructions within 5 business days, OWD will dispose of the damaged product and you will charged a disposal fee based on the following criteria:

  • For items that measure less than 24 inches on any side or weigh less than 25 lbs., a fee of $1.00 per unit will apply.
  • For items that measure more than 24 inches on any side or weigh 25 lbs. or more, a fee of $5.00 per unit will apply.
  • For any hazardous items, a fee of $5.00 per unit will apply.
