Are my packages insured?

Not all shipping methods include insurance; however, some carriers will cover up to $100 if a claim is approved. OWD offers package insurance through U-Pic.

If you would like to sign up for U-Pic package insurance, please contact your Fulfillment Specialist. Here are a few things to know before signing up:

• The cost is $1.50 per $100 covered if you are planning to insure every order shipped out.
• To cover only specific packages, the cost is $2.50 per $100.
• If a claim is approved, the first $100 is covered by the carrier, U-Pic covers the remaining cost.
• The limit that U-Pic will cover is $1,000 per parcel (also applies to B2B orders).
• For the cost of $1.50 per $100 covered, the insurance would need to be applied to every order shipped out, you will not be able to choose which orders you would like to insure.
• U-Pic does not cover LTL orders since it is designed for ground shipments.

How does it work?

If a package insurance claim needs to be submitted, reach out to your Fulfillment Specialist with the order details. They will then submit the claim to U-Pic. You will then receive an affidavit from U-Pic. Once that is signed and sent back, the claim will begin to process.
